Mission:
The Pre-Harvest Food Safety and Enteric Diseases group conducts agricultural research. We conduct biological research on factors and causes of disease related to the gastrointestinal tract. Our goal is to decrease the hazards caused by bacteria and toxins that give rise to disease in domestic animals and humans. We strive to provide scientific innovation in the control of foodborne pathogens and in the understanding of the basic mechanisms of selected enteric diseases. We conduct research on behalf of producers, agribusiness, U.S. citizens, and a global community of consumers.
