Colloidal mineral supplements are supposedly derived from centuries-old vegetation deposits found in only a few isolated areas of the world. Manufacturers claim that they contain minerals that aren't found in today's foods. They also claim that these minerals are in a more natural form, which makes them easier for the body to absorb. But no evidence supports these claims.
There's no evidence of any health benefits from colloidal minerals. Colloidal minerals aren't superior to other sources of minerals — whether elemental (simplest form) or from foods. Also, some medical experts have concerns that these products may contain harmful chemicals. Talk to your doctor before taking colloidal mineral supplements.
