Mission:
The mission is to improve soil, water, and plant management in the Southeastern Coastal Plains by providing both basic and applied research information. Total soil and water management are emphasized to overcome problems of drought, water excess, poor soil physical conditions, low soil fertility, and water quality. The major crops of soybeans, corn, and cotton as well as high value crops are investigated. Breeding is a major component of the cotton research. Goals are pursued in cooperation with the Agricultural Experiment Stations of South Carolina and the surrounding states of the Southeastern Coastal Plains.
