Faith-Based & Community Initiatives
This site is designed to assist the leaders of Faith-based and
Community Initiatives in identifying CDC and ATSDR funding opportunities,
scheduled conferences, technical assistance, and other federal
resources to support community disease prevention and health
improvement programs.

Healthy People 2010 The goal of
Healthy People 2010 is to assure that the public health infrastructure at the federal,
state and local levels have the capacity to provide essential public health services to their
constituents. |
Leadership in Public Health (LMI)
LMI provides opportunities for health professionals to develop and enhance their
leadership and management skills. |

Recommends CDC Recommends
contains guidelines and recommendations approved by the CDC for the prevention and
control of disease, injuries, and disabilities. |
Health Alert Network (HAN) HAN is a nationwide information and
communications system. It includes, but is not limited to, distribution of health alerts
and prevention guidelines and initiatives to strengthen state and local preparedness. |
National Public Health Performance Standards
Program (NPHPSP) NPHPSP is an effort to develop performance standards
for public health practices to improve system-wide performance. |
WHO Collaborating Center for Public Health
Practice
The World Health Organization has designated the Public Health Practice Program Office
as a WHO Collaborating Center for Public Health Practice. The Center will focus on sharing
the wide base of expertise available through PHPPO with initiatives in other countries and
international health organizations in the area of performance measurement of health systems
and development of standards for public health.
