April 11, 2002 NCER Staff Writer WASHINGTON (NCER) - On March 21 - 22, 2002, the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) sponsored the Decision Making and Valuation for Environmental Policy (DMVEP) Workshop in Washington, DC. The workshop attracted over 65 participants from the private sector, state and federal governments, nonprofit organizations, academia and Environment Canada. The audience heard and discussed research results from 17 researchers who were funded by EPA's Science to Achieve Results (STAR) program and NSF's Decision, Risk and Management Science Program competitions from 1997 through 2000. The workshop's three sessions focused on: 1) community environmental
