Research Project: Model Abstraction Techniques for Soil Water Flow and Transport

Location: Environmental Microbial Safety

Project Number: 1265-32630-002-07
Project Type: Reimbursable

Start Date: Feb 01, 2003
End Date: Sep 30, 2006

Objective:
To identify, test and confirm various model abstraction techniques providing selection and use of essential data and processes for simulating flow and transport of water and contaminants through soils.

Approach:
Identify and review appropriate model abstraction techniques for hierarchical application of flow and transport modeling for specific soil and contaminant properties and particular environmental conditions; test and confirm the appropriateness of the model abstraction approach through comparisons with conventional complex flow and transport models.
