The Office of Regional Telecommunications provides national program leadership and delivers telecommunications services to customers through eleven regional offices. Regional Telecommunications offers local voice, data and video telecommunications products and services in every state and major city in the United States in addition to

  • Puerto Rico
  • The U.S. Virgin Islands
  • Guam
  • American Samoa
  • The Northern Mariana Islands.

GSA provides first mile/last mile services and solutions including

  • Equipment and installation
  • Support services
  • Integration services
  • Nationwide project management
  • Contract management
  • Operations management
  • Account management.

Programs include the Metropolitan Area Acquisitions (MAA) and its companion Washington Interagency Telecommunications System (WITS) for local access and local transport, CONNECTIONS for telecommunications infrastructure support, and many regionally negotiated contracts to meet localized customer requirements. The regional offices provide

  • Front-line technical assistance
  • Customer support
  • Vendor coordination for on-premises infrastructure needs
  • Locally managed telecom systems and interconnection to long distance services.

They provide full service provisioning for 500+ existing systems nationwide including all aspects of life cycle management. The Regional Offices can develop customized telecom solutions for customers using a variety of contracts. They support service transitions, trouble shoot service disruptions, and resolve customer service issues. FTS can assist with defining requirements, reviewing alternatives, and advising agencies in determining how best to satisfy needs.
