Climate Dynamics

Description

Indian Ocean ExperimentSupports research on processes that govern climate and the causes of climate variability and change; methods to predict climate variations and assess their impact on human activities; assembly and analysis of modern climate data; development and use of climate models to diagnose and simulate climate and its variations.

The Program recognizes the "public services" provided by many of its PIs for the good of the broader research and applications communities, for the public, and for local, state and federal policy makers. For example, the participation in Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) periodic and special assessments, as lead and contributing authors and reviewers. The Program encourages its PIs to continue or begin to participate in public services of this kind, and considers this factor in its overall evalution of proposals.

Target Dates and Deadlines

Proposals may be submitted at any time during the year for all programs except those involving the allocation of observational and computing facilities.
