Target/Deadline
Dates for DEB
The target dates
for submission of proposals to the Division of Environmental Biology
are January 9 and July 9 for all programs unless
otherwise stated in specific program announcements. Proposals received
by the target date will be considered in the next panel review cycle.
The earliest possible effective date for an award would be approximately
six months after the target date or deadline date.
Each October,
the Division of Environmental Biology (DEB) sends all principal
investigators with a DEB grant, which will be active until at least
the following June, and electronic Dear Colleague Letter. The letter
announces the availability of REU supplements, contains information
about the application procedure, and points out that the DEB-wide
deadline for REU supplement requests is Feb 1.
Proposers are reminded
of the guidelines regarding the length of research proposals. Proposals
in which the project description, including results from prior NSF
support, exceeds 15 pages (with 2.5 cm margins), will not be accepted.
Appendices may not be submitted. For ease of review, investigators
must use a font size no smaller then 10 points.
