Research Project: Land Management Effects on Runoff, Erosion, and Water Quality under Winter Conditions

Location: Land Management and Water Conservation Research

Project Number: 5348-12000-007-01
Project Type: Specific C/A

Start Date: Sep 27, 2001
End Date: Aug 30, 2006

Objective:
The objective of this cooperative research project is to establish and validate mathematical relationships to describe interaction of land management with soil freezing and thawing and the resulting effects on soil erosion and water quality. Project number changed from 5348-12000-006-06S to reflect change in Parent Cris number 9/4/02.

Approach:
In consultation with ADODR, erosion and hydrological models will be developed, and field and laboratory experiments will be designed and conducted in order to test hypotheses and determine parameters for these research and application models. Consultation with and review by other researchers and users will ensure the models meet specified needs. Results of this research will be jointly reported in the scientific literature, technology transfer document and training activities. Documents SCA with WSU. Formerly 5348-12000-006-06S (9/02).
