Assurance - working to assure that adequate capacity exists to manage
hazardous wastes generated in each state.
Cleaning Up
Our Land, Water and Air - EPA conducts and supervises investigation
and cleanup actions at a variety of sites. Cleanups may be done by EPA,
other federal agencies, states or municipalities, or the company or party
responsible for the contamination. Cleanup may also refer to the reuse
and redevelopment of sites, such as under the Brownfields initiative whereby
abandoned or under-used commercial and industrial sites are cleaned of
environmental contamination and reclaimed for productive use.
Combustion
- ensures the safety and reliability of hazardous waste combustion in
incinerators and boilers and industrial furnaces.
Corrective
Action Program for Hazardous Waste Professionals - allows RCRA facilities
themselves to address the investigation and cleanup of accidents or other
activities that have released hazardous waste pollutants into soil, ground
water, surface water, and air. There are approximately 3700 facilities
that are in the corrective action workload.

single repository for pollution prevention, compliance assurance, and
enforcement information and data bases.

Land Disposal
Restrictions Program - ensures that land disposed hazardous wastes
do not pose a threat to human health or the environment.
Mixed Waste Homepage
- a program to coordinate management of mixed waste containing radioactive

Mobile Sources - carries out
a broad range of activities to reduce pollutants emitted from motor vehicles,
off-road equipment (e.g., lawnmowers, boats, locomotives, etc.), and their
fuels.
Oil Spill Program - information
about the U.S. EPA's program for preventing, preparing for, and responding
to oil spills that occur in and around inland waters of the United States.

Programs - provides information about paying for solid waste disposal

Toxic Release Inventory - the
source of information about toxic chemicals that are being used, manufactured,
transported, or released into the environment.
Underground Storage Tanks (UST)
- provides current information relevant to the Federal underground storage
tank (UST) program.
Waste Minimization
- focuses on reducing the generation and subsequent release to the environment
of the most persistent, bioaccumulative, and toxic chemicals in hazardous
wastes.

Prevention - offers information about efforts to reduce municipal
solid waste and examples of how source reduction efforts benefit business
and industry, governments, and consumers.
Wastewater Management - access
a range of programs contributing to the well-being of our nation's waters
and watersheds.
WasteWi$e Program - a voluntary
program that targets the reduction of municipal solid waste; waste that
would otherwise end up in a trash dumpster.
