Mission
SEPRL provides scientific solutions to national and international exotic and emerging poultry disease problems that impact poultry and human health. The comprehensive research program emphasizes basic and applied research in diagnostics, prevention and control strategies, prediction of disease outbreaks, molecular epidemiology, and understanding disease pathogenesis. Research programs serve the needs of the poultry industry, state and federal government regulatory agencies, and the consumer. The Center uses a multi-diciplinary approach utilizing state-of-the-art technology and specialized facilities to conduct basic and applied research.
Current research programs are Avian Influenza, Newcastle Disease, Avian Pneumovirus, Salmonella enteritidis, Poult Enteritis Mortality Syndrome, Avian Mucosal Immunology, and Vaccines.
