Reporting
Reporting subtopics Alphabetical List of All Topics

Reporting the accidental release of oil, chemicals and other pollutants is an essential part of the EPA's mandate to protect human health and the environment. To facilitate reporting, EPA has established the centralized National Response Center. The EPA also gathers annual reports into the Toxic Release Inventory. To encourage the faithful reporting of these releases, EPA conducts mass mailings toall facilities within the manufacturing sector, works with trade associations, gives local and national seminars, offers training courses, and conducts inspections of regulated facilities.
