EPA requires timely reporting from the entities it regulates. These reports come in a variety of forms and cover a variety of topics, from oil spills to chemical accidents to the release of dangerous substances into the water or air. EPA integrates, organizes and makes available this reported information through printed documents and on-line databases such as the Toxics Resease Inventory. Disseminating the information helps keep the public and other stakeholders such as local and tribal governments informed. EPA continues to work with the regulated community to develop more efficient and accurate methods of reporting such as the One Stop Reporting Program.
