About the CDC Disability and Health State Projects Database
Background. The Disability and Health State Projects Database is a searchable database that provides summary information on CDC funded State Disability Projects. In 2003, 16 states are funded under competitive application for Program Announcement 02007. The Disability and Health Team awarded funds to states for:
  • Level I projects focusing on implementing community-based health promotion programs targeting people with disabilities;
  • Level II projects focusing on developing a state health plan that includes people with disabilities and planning health promotion interventions; and
  • Level III projects focusing on developing state health department infrastructure and program planning to support a disability and health program.
Data views. You can view the information in three ways: (1) State Project -- All information for a specific state project; (2) Project Comparison -- Answers for the specific question for every State; and (3) Search for words in answers -- Any answer in any state that contains the search text (actually the string of characters -- including the string of characters within a word).
Navigation.You can easily switch from the State Project view to Project Comparison view by simply clicking on the question text with a hyperlink.  Similarly, you can switch from the Project Comparison view to the State Project view by clicking on the name of the state with a hyperlink.  The navigational scheme is designed to make it easy for you to get a good "feel" for the information in an intuitive way.
Statistics.  For any question with answer components that include a choice list (such as "Yes/No"), a summary table is automatically presented at the end of the answers that shows the number and percentage of states for the various choice categories.  A simple bar chart of the percentages is also shown, along with the list of states in each category.
Updating information. Authorized users in state projects may log in (by clicking the "Log In" button) and update their own information.
