The Public Affairs Office of the U.S. Embassy in Guatemala works to increase understanding and acceptance of U.S. values and policies, and to promote dialogue between the people and institutions of Guatemala and the United States. The Public Affairs Office, under the direction of the Public Affairs Officer, is comprised of a Cultural Section, which administers educational and people-to-people exchange programs between Guatemala and the United States, and a Press Section, which provides the Guatemalan press and public with information on U.S. Mission activities and policies.
