What is the mission of the "Enforcement and Justice Services" (EJS) Division?

The Enforcement and Justice Services Division anticipates and responds to the needs, and develops innovative products that law enforcement and the judiciary will seek and use to reduce traffic crashes, deaths, and injuries. This is accomplished by providing national leadership in planning and developing improved traffic law enforcement practices and services delivery, prosecutor and adjudication services, and driver licensing programs.

Traffic Safety Today - Criminal Justice Leadership Meeting (posted 10/28/04)
In September 2003, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the National Criminal Justice Association (NCJA) convened a meeting of criminal justice association leaders to address strategies for reducing traffic crashes. This 34-page report summarizes the meeting and identifies actions to improve traffic safety.

Reducing Risk of Post-Crash Fires in Police Vehicles (posted 10-30-03)
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is issuing this document to update the law enforcement community on issues and actions currently under way to reduce the risk of rear impact crash fires involving police vehicles.
