Welcome to the Soil & Water Management Research Unit
(SWMRU), St. Paul, MN.  The SWMRU is part of the Midwest Area of USDA/ARS.  Our research laboratories and offices are housed on the St. Paul Campus of the University of Minnesota.

The mission of the SWMRU is to understand the impact of
agricultural management practices, including tillage and residue management, on ground and surface water quality and on crucial soil properties, particularly soil carbon content.
