Mission:
The mission of the Growth Biology Laboratory is to (1) examine pre-and post-translational genetic determinants that influence nutrient utilization for lean tissue deposition by livestock; (2) optimize and validate nondestructive techniques for the prediction of live animal composition; and (3) assess nutrient/management variables and metabolism modifiers on target animal health, well-being, product quality and safety.
