A new tool is available to you for assistance in building valid FDA product codes. The Product Code Builder Application will guide you through an easy and user friendly selection process that will assist you in locating and building a product code. By building upon the code portions you select, the application will provide you with valid choices for each of the five components of the product code (Industry, Class, Subclass, PIC, and Product).

To assist you in using the Product Code Builder application, we have provided several areas where you can obtain helpful information:

  • Helpful Tips - These tips are located on the first screen of the application. They give an overview of the four options you may select from to begin building your product code.
  • FAQ/Help section - contains a series of frequently asked questions and answers related to building a product code.
  • Complete Tutorial Module - The tutorial is designed to give you the information you need to successfully code products. You can go through the tutorial in order, or jump right to a lesson that will meet an immediate need for information.
