Objective:
1)Conduct research of the biology & ecology of saltcedar in Nevada. 2)Conduct biological control impact studies on Diohrabda elongata in Nevada 3)Release and monitor saltcedar natural enemies and thier impacts. 4)Evaluate vegetation pattern changes and the impacts on associated flora and fauna in Nevada.

Approach:
Field studies will be used to assess the population dynamics of newly released natural enemies of saltcedar. Estimates of population growth and spread will be assessed in combination with assessments of impact of the target plant population. Standard protocols of insect and plant monitoring will be followed as developed by the Saltcedar Consortium. GPS and GIS technologies will be used to help assess landscape level effects on the affected ecosystems. Documents SCA with U of Nevada.
