Fort Clatsop Historical Association

Mail Order Catalog

The Fort Clatsop Historical Association is a nonprofit organization and proceeds from association sales are used to support the historical, scientific and educational activities at Fort Clatsop National Memorial. The association's bookstore located in the visitor center at the memorial is open every day but Christmas Day and welcomes your mail orders.

The following catalog contains books, videos, maps, posters, prints and replica items related to the Lewis and Clark Expedition--northwest American Indian culture and other events in western American history--and western National Park Service sites. On-line ordering is not available at this time, so please print out the order form, and call, mail or fax in your request. Since the availability of items is determined by the stock-on-hand, and prices--quoted in U.S. currency--are subject to change without notice, it is recommended you call (503-861-4451) to determine availability and current prices.

In January 1999, the Fort Clatsop Historical Association board of directors opened its membership to persons with an interest in Fort Clatsop National Memorial and the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Membership privileges include the following: a numbered membership card, a 10% discount on most bookstore items and a quarterly newsletter about Fort Clatsop and the association.

Below this--in white--is a legend "Lewis and Clark at Fort Clatsop 1805 - 1806." The blankets are 82% wool and 18% cotton--the cotton "warp" helps maintain the blanket's shape, and each one of the 64" x 80" blankets is numbered and comes in a sturdy, numbered box.

Jefferson Peace Medal
 Copper 1 1/4"
 Bronze 3"

$4.50

$57.50

These medals are produced by the U S Mint.
The copper medal is a souvenir-sized replica of the original.
The 3" medal closely represents the medal given to the American Indians by the expedition. The images on each side duplicate the original design, but each side of the original medals was struck separately in silver. The two sides were sandwiched together with a round of wood or cork. These pieces were then held together by placing a thin metal channel around the edges. This would have made the medal considerably lighter than the solid bronze ones now made. A ring was attached to this channel to allow the medal to be suspended from a ribbon.
