Message From Congressman Culberson

Dear Neighbor:

I am deeply honored and very proud to have earned such a strong vote of confidence from District 7. You have entrusted me with the privilege of representing you and the core principles we share at an especially historic moment. I am immensely proud of our President, George W. Bush, and look forward to helping him succeed in his second term. I am also very proud of our neighbor, Majority Leader Tom DeLay, and will do my best to help him and our Speaker, Dennis Hastert, enact our President's legislative agenda and the agenda of our governing majority.

District 7 now includes the majority of the independent cities in Harris County as well as Rice University and the Texas Medical Center. These are neighborhoods that were originally a part of District 7 when it was created in 1965, and I am very pleased that they are once again a part of our district. Personally these changes mean a lot to me because I grew up in West University Place, attended West University Elementary School, had a paper route for the Southwestern Argus and the Houston Chronicle, and rode my bicycle regularly to the Village to G & G Model Shop and to launch model rockets and fly kites on the Rice Stadium parking lot. West University, Bellaire, Southside Place, Braeswood, Meyerland, Southhampton and Rice University hold many happy memories for me and my family, and I am privileged to represent these areas.
