Hoeffel Reintroduces Assault Weapons Ban With Rep. Carolyn McCarthy
Washington, DC (September 14, 2004) – U.S. Reps. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) and Joe Hoeffel (PA-13) today introduced bipartisan legislation that would restore the assault weapons ban that expired yesterday for an additional 10 years. McCarthy and Hoeffel were joined in sponsoring the bill by Reps. Mike Ferguson (R-NJ) and Michael Castle (R-DE).

Hoeffel Stands With Workers In The 13th District As Democrats Win Vote To Protect Overtime Rights
WASHINGTON, D.C. September 9, 2004) - Rep. Joe Hoeffel (PA-13) stood with workers and their families today, voting to protect the overtime rights of millions of American workers. The amendment, which passed 223 to 193, halts the implementation of the Administration’s new regulation that strips overtime rights and pay from millions of workers.

Hoeffel Praises Powell Declaration That Genocide Has Occurred In Sudan
Washington, DC (September 9, 2004) – U.S. Rep. Joe Hoeffel (PA-13) today praised Secretary of State Colin Powell for stating for the first time that the humanitarian crisis in Sudan is “genocide”. Secretary Powell made the comments in a statement submitted to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
