Dear Friend,

Representing the Sixth Congressional District is a high honor and great privilege, and I am pleased to announce some changes I have implemented to better serve constituents residing the 15 counties that all or in part make up South Carolina’s Sixth Congressional District.

Effective immediately, I have instituted a toll free number to enable all Sixth Congressional District residents to reach my district office without paying for the long distance call. The number is 1-888-JIM-0006 or 1-888-546-0006.

I have also opened a Santee office at 8833 Old Highway 6 that can be contacted at (803)854-4700. I believe this office near the junction of I-95 and I-26 is well situated to serve constituents in the heart of my district. I have long focused many of my legislative efforts on the needs of these rural communities in the District, and feel the best way to carry through on these initiatives is to have an office in the area.

Finally, I have expanded the number of field visits my staff makes to parts of the district not situated near a full-time office. The new schedule can be found on this website by following this link http://www.house.gov/clyburn/fieldvisits.htm. These are regularly scheduled visits with the day, time and location remaining the same each month with some occasional seasonal modifications.

I hope you will find these changes helpful in communicating with my district offices. One note: the rules of Congressional Courtesy require that requests and inquiries from outside the Sixth Congressional District be referred to the Member of Congress who represents them. To verify the district in which you live, search the Member of Congress directory by zip code at http://www.house.gov/. If you are a resident of the Sixth District and feel the need for my office's assistance with matters pertaining to the federal government, please do not hesitate to contact me.
