Gibbons and Federal Education Official Visit with Students in Sparks

This week, Congressman Jim Gibbons joined with U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education Gene Hickok and visited with a kindergarten and third grade class at Kate Smith Elementary School in Sparks, Nevada.

As a parent of three, Congressman Gibbons is committed to ensuring that the children of Nevada receive a quality education. He strongly supports the No Child Left Behind Act, bipartisan landmark education reform law designed to change the culture of America’s schools by closing the achievement gap, offering more flexibility, giving parents more options and teaching students based on what works. Congressman Gibbons also has supported historic levels of funding which Congress and President Bush have provided to the states to implement the new law’s education reforms.
