House passes Gingrey bill honoring hunters’ charity -

Gingrey votes against draft reinstatement -
U.S. Rep. Phil Gingrey joined an overwhelming majority in the House to reject a bill sponsored by Rep. Charles Rangel, Democrat of New York, which would require that all young persons in the United States, including women, perform a period of military service or a period of civilian service in furtherance of national defense and homeland security. Identical legislation (S. 89) was also introduced in the Senate by Sen. Ernest Hollings (D-S.C.); however, it is not expected to be taken up for debate.

Gingrey votes for marriage amendment -
U.S. Rep. Phil Gingrey voted today for the Marriage Protection Amendment, which won a majority of votes with a 227-186 margin but fell short of the two-thirds majority needed for House passage.
