S.O.L.V.E. Act: The Safe, Orderly, Legal Visas & Enforcement Act

Washington D.C.- On May 4, 2004 Rep. Senate and House Democrats to Introduce Comprehensive Immigration Reform Legislation

Washington D.C.- Senator Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.), House Democratic Caucus Chairman Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), Rep. Luis V. Gutierrez (D-Ill.), chairman of the Democratic Caucus Immigration Task Force, and other House Members will join labor, business leaders, immigrants' rights and advocacy groups for a press conference to introduce a comprehensive immigration reform package.  This legislation will be unveiled on Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at 11:30 a.m., on the Cannon House Office Building Terrace. (The Cannon Terrace is located outside the N.W. entrance of the Cannon House Office Building Rotunda.)  Read the media advisory.

Gutierrez Introduces U.S.A. Family Act -  H.R. 440 - at Annual Immigration Reform Summit

Gutierrez Amendment Addressing OCC Preemption Rule Adopted

Washington, D.C. - On February 25, 2004 Rep. Gutierrez was successful in passing a bi-partisan amendment to the Committee on Financial Services' "Views and Estimates on Matters to be Set Forth in the Concurrent Resolution on the Budget for Fiscal Year 2005." Read more  here .

Gutierrez Proposal to Study Discrimination in Credit Scoring Clears Congress, Nov. 24, 2003

Congressional Art Competition 2004

It's that time of year again when we launch the annual Congressional Art Competition.  Rep.
