Nuclear weapons research today means testing tomorrow
October 23, 2004, Washington, D.C.-There's an ongoing debate on resumed nuclear weapons testing. Some have suggested that research and development of new nukes can somehow be accomplished without actual testing before the weapons enter our nuclear arsenal.

October 6, 2004, Washington, D.C.-Congressman Jim Matheson voted against legislation considered by the U.S. House Tuesday that would reinstate the military draft. The bill -HR 163-- the "Universal National Service Act" would institute mandatory military service for men and women between the ages of 18 and 26, beginning June 15, 2005.

Matheson Receives "Friend of Farm Bureau" Award

Matheson received the award for his record on priority agricultural issues in the 108th session of Congress.
