THURSDAY, October 7, 2004 — U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers, MI-08, said legislation adopted in the U.S. House of Representatives today will shut down excess taxpayer subsidies for student loan providers and redirect the money to help urban and rural schools address a critical shortage of qualified teachers in key subject areas.
