Affordable prescription drugs

The Medicare prescription drug bill enacted into law in December 2003, which I opposed, is flawed and puts profits of special interests ahead of a real benefit for seniors.  I will continue to work to correct the defects of this legislation to give seniors the prescription drug benefit they deserve.  Click here to read about my proposal to lower the price of prescription drugs

Quality public schools

When the No Child Left Behind Act was enacted, Congress and the President made a promise to our schools to provide resources to help them meet a new standard of excellence.  The federal government’s refusal to fully fund NCLBA threatens to break this promise.  It’s time to fulfill this commitment.  Click here to read about my proposal to fully fund NCLBA
