WASHINGTON,
D.C.— The specialty crop industry
claimed a long-awaited and much- deserved
victory last night when the House of Representatives
passed The Specialty Crops Competitiveness
Act (H.R. 3242) by a voice vote. Congressman
Doug Ose (R-Sacramento) and Congressman
Cal Dooley (D-Hanford) introduced H.R. 3242
over a year ago, to aid farmers and growers
nationwide and enhance all areas of fruit,
vegetable, nut, and horticulture production.

WASHINGTON,
D.C.- Congressman Doug
Ose (R-Sacramento), Chairman
of a House Government
Reform Subcommittee, today
called upon the House
Administration Committee
to investigate the use
of Federal taxpayer dollars
to influence Federal and
State elections in California.
Yesterday, Ose sent a
letter to Attorney General
Ashcroft calling for him
to take action on election
abuse.

HOUSE PASSES ADAM KINSER POST OFFICE BILL |

WASHINGTON,
D.C.- In recognition of
a young man who gave his
life in defense of America’s
freedom, the House of
Representatives today
passed legislation to
designate a Rio Vista
Post Office as the “Adam
G. Kinser Post Office
Building.” At the
age of 21, Adam was the
first Rio Vistan to lose
his life in wartime since
the Korean War.
