CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
WASHINGTON, D.C. 20515
Dear Friends,
The past several months have presented numerous challenges to our nation and our state. Visit My Online Reservists Page War with Iraq, the Station Nightclub Tragedy, the explosion of the Space Shuttle Columbia, a languishing economy, and other crises have tested both the resolve and courage of our citizenry.
During my travels across the First Congressional District of Rhode Island, many of you have approached me with concerns about the direction of our nation and our people. Though the decisions of the past several months have not been easy, I am proud that we have met them with the same brand of tenacity that America and Rhode Island has come to be known for. For my part, I will continue representing your interests--the interests of my constituents--in Washington in the best way I know how.
Part of my job is to serve as your liasion to the federal government. I have set up a number of resources to help you in that regard. If you have loved ones serving overseas, I encourage you to utilize my Online Reservist Support Center. By clicking on the link above, you will be able to access a host of resources located throughout the World Wide Web.
If you have other concerns of a federal nature and live in the First Congressional District, I hope you will utilize the resources of my office by calling (401)729-5600 and (202)225-4911. My staff and I stand ready to assist you any way we can.
I am certain our country will pull through the challenges we have faced over the past several months in the same way it always has pulled through. As we enter spring and graduation season, thoughts of renewal enter our minds. Though we must all remain vigilant in ensuring that our priorities stay clear, I am optimistic over what lies ahead. With the fighting in Iraq coming to a close and the nation's attention focusing on critical programs in education, health care, the economy, and more, I hope that we can continue to pull together as a people for the greater good of our wonderful country.
Sincerely Yours,
Patrick J. Kennedy
