Shays, Maloney Introduce 9/11 Commission Report Implementation Act
Christopher and Representative Carolyn Maloney joined a bipartisan group of 30 legislators in introducing the House version of 9/11 Commission Report Implementation Act. Additionally, Christopher and Congresswoman Maloney established a bipartisan 9/11 Commission Caucus to work with the Family Steering Committee to advance reforms.
2004 Questionnaire Results

Praising our military effort in Iraq as "an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10," National Security Subcommittee Chairman Christopher Shays is calling for that same dedication and resolve in our rebuilding efforts.

The Budget Committee is responsible for developing the annual Budget Resolution, legislation required by the Budget Act of 1974.
The Budget Resolution is the blueprint for broad spending and tax decisions that will be made during the balance of the year. Both the House and Senate have various enforcement procedures aimed at ensuring that the resolution's directives are met.
House Select Committee on Homeland Security
The Select Committee on Homeland Security is responsible for overseeing the establishment of the new Department of Homeland Security. It will coordinate the work of congressional committees in the areas of intelligence gathering, counterterrorism efforts, emergency preparedness and response, transportation and border security, and cybersecurity.
