BREAKING NEWS...

Remembering 9-11

"One of the most significant achievements of the Bush Administration was to win the Afghan war, sending  a clear message to terrorists and the governments that harbor them that we will no longer sit idly by as they train for acts of terror aimed at the American people."

-- Washington Post (Krauthammer, Oct. 29, 2004 A2) --

"In the 1990s, Afghanistan was allowed to fall to the Taliban and become the global center for the training, indoctrination and seeding of jihadists around the world -- including the mass murderers of Sept. 11, 2001. This week, just three years after a two-month war that destroyed the Taliban, Afghanistan completed its first free election, choosing as president a pro-American democrat enjoying legitimacy and wide popular support.

"This represents the single most astonishing geopolitical transformation of the past four years. (Deposing Saddam Hussein ranks second. The global jihad against America was no transformation at all: It existed long before the Bush administration. We'd simply ignored al Qaeda's declaration of war.) But perhaps even more astonishing is how this singular American victory has disappeared from public consciousness." To read the entire article, click here

The Truth about our Soldiers

"A short time ago, the media focused our attention on the very, very few American soldiers who disrespected detainees at Abu Ghraib.   In this week's Wall Street Journal, the head of the Independent panel to review the Department of Defense Detainee Operations, James Schlesinger, wrote an op-ed in defense of the American soldier. While so many of our young men and woman are risking their lives to protect our freedom, it is extremely important that we focus on the fact that the vast majority of our soldiers are honorable, upstanding and respectful servicemen and women," Weldon said.
