1/14/04 Supports missions to moon, Mars, and beyond but urges prudence.

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee joined President Bush and other leaders in space policy at NASA headquarters as the President unveiled his plan for the future of NASA’s human space program.  She stated her initial reactions:

“It is truly an exciting day for NASA and for explorers of all types around the world.  Many of us in Congress have been calling on the Administration to articulate a bold mission for NASA.  It seems that the President is answering that call.  I whole-heartedly support his vision for going back to the moon, and from there to worlds beyond.  The benefits of such exploration are innumerable.  However, I look forward to hearing more details from the Administration and to working with the NASA Administrator to ensure that the plan we craft is ambitious yet achievable, and courageous yet as safe as possible.”  Click here for more
