Launches Effort to Bring Relief to Long Island School Districts
Washington, DC: As Congress prepares to leave Washington without
addressing the burdens unfunded federal education mandates place
on local taxpayers, Congressman Bishop launched an effort to
bring tax relief to local school districts by forcing a vote on
the Educational Opportunity for the 21st Century Act (HR 4473).

Bishop Announces Legislation to Fix Victims Compensation Fund
St. James, NY - Today at the St. James Firehouse, Congressman
Tim Bishop announced his support for legislation to extend the
September 11th Victims Compensation Fund (VCF) for personal
injury claims and to remove misguided regulations on the fund
that had blocked many injured rescue workers and area residents

$28 MILLION
Shortfall Places Unfunded Federal Mandate on Local Taxpayers
Washington, DC: With students across Suffolk County returning to

shows the extent of unfunded federal mandates on local

Congressman’s Effort Saves Taxpayers $40,000
Medford, NY: At the urging of Congressman Tim Bishop, the
Department of Energy (DOE) recently removed a radioactive device
from Patchogue-Medford High School. Bishop acted on a request
from the Patchogue-Medford School District, who informed him
that the removal would cost taxpayers $40,000 to go through a

ANNOUNCES $35K GRANT FOR SAG HARBOR FIRE DEPARTMENT
Sag Harbor, NY: At an event at the Sag Harbor Fire Department
headquarters on Monday, Congressman Tim Bishop announced a
$35,055 federal grant. The funding will be used to help purchase
communications equipment to assist first responders in doing
