Harvey W Wiley Federal Building - College Park MD CFSAN Moves Harvey W Wiley Federal Building - College Park MD
from Washington, DC to College Park, MD

Dear Colleagues,

The Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition of the Food and Drug Administration is pleased to announce its impending relocation to a new headquarters building in College Park, MD.

Beginning in November of 2001 and finishing in March of 2002, the Center will relocate the majority of its staff from Southwest D.C. to College Park. In addition, the Office of Seafood, currently located at Vermont Avenue, will also relocate to College Park. The Office of Food Additive Safety will remain, for now, at Vermont Avenue, and the Color Certification Program will remain, for now, at FB-8.

It is most important to keep in contact with our stakeholders and professional colleagues. To this aim, all of our telephone and facsimile numbers will be automatically routed to new College Park numbers for at least 30 days as each organizational entity relocates. Email addresses will not be affected by this move.

We have set the date of December 14, 2001 for our new mailing address to take effect. Mail addressed to 200 C Street will still reach us at College Park, but may be delayed. Our new address is:

Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition
U.S. Food and Drug Administration
5100 Paint Branch Parkway
College Park, MD 20740-3835

To help ease any confusion, we have added a new feature to our Internet site: www.cfsan.fda.gov. This site, devoted to CFSAN news on food and cosmetics, will feature a "moving van" icon. By clicking on this icon, you can see the latest news on the move, new telephone numbers, and the actual move schedule.

We look forward to welcoming you to our new headquarters in College Park.

Sincerely,

Joseph A. Levitt
Director
Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition
