The American College of Phlebology

WELCOME

The American College of Phlebology (formerly the North American Society of Phlebology) was founded in 1985. It has grown to be the largest phlebology society in the United States, with over 1150 members. 38 countries outside of the United States are respesented, with members' specialty backgrounds including dermatology, surgery, plastic surgery, gynecology, interventional radiology, family practice, ultrasound technology, and nursing, as well as phlebology. The ACP is a member of the International Union of Phlebology. The mission of the ACP is to improve the standards of practice and patient care related to venous disorders. The ACP sponsors international congresses, regional symposia, fellowship grants, research awards and publishes phlebology papers in Dermatologic Surgery.

    BASIC PHLEBOLOGY PRIMER

    The Basic Phlebology Primer was developed to provide practical, current guidelines in the evaluation and management of patients with varicose veins. Discussions of deep vein thrombosis and thrombophlebits, chronic venous insufficiency and venous leg ulcer evaluation and management, as well as setting up a phlebology practice are also included. This syllabus is intended for physicians and allied health care professionals who participate in the diagnosis or treatment of patients with venous disease.
