Patients of Courage: For the first time ever, at its annual meeting, the ASPS recognized four reconstructive surgery patients in a program called Patients of Courage: Triumph Over Adversity»
Choosing to have plastic surgery is an important decision, and so is selecting a plastic surgeon. Whether you're considering cosmetic surgery to improve your appearance or reconstructive surgery to correct defects or improve function, you want a board-certified surgeon with the skill and training to help achieve your goals. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), established in 1931, is the largest plastic surgery specialty organization in the world, and is here to guide you through this process.
Plastic surgeons routinely volunteer to give reconstructive aid around the world, and are also heavily involved in clinical research to find new and better methods of surgery.
The Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation (PSEF), as the educational arm of ASPS, supports these and other initiatives. The PSEF and National Endowment for Plastic Surgery also accept donations to help fund future research.
