This topic includes information on EPA's plans for compliance assistance
as part of the national enforcement and compliance assurance program.
EPA is providing this information to enable all stakeholders to
understand the purpose and timing of planned activities, and to
allow EPA offices and Regions, along with other compliance assistance
providers and the regulated community, to identify opportunities
for improved coordination, collaboration or partnerships in developing
and delivering compliance assistance.

national highlights of the 415 compliance assistance activities
planned by EPA for Fiscal Year 2004.
Highlights
of EPA Compliance Assistance Activity Plan: Fiscal Year 2003(PDF 444.6 KB, 14 pages) May 20,
2003. This report provides highlights of 369 compliance assistance
(CA) activities that EPA intends to undertake in Fiscal Year 2003.
The highlights of this year's plan are very similar to the FY
2001 and 2002 CA Activity Plans, with two exceptions:
"Tools Developed" has increased as a relative percentage
of all activities reported.
More of the CA activities reported include an effort to measure
the impact or outcome of the CA such as change in awareness
of environmental requirements or the environmental performance
of the regulated entity.
More detailed information (e.g., title, brief description, contact
information) about specific activities planned is available in
a database searchable by business, industry, government and the
general public via the Internet at: National Environmental Compliance

Planned
and Ongoing Activities (Compliance Assistance Project Activities)
EPA maintains a database of planned and ongoing compliance assistance
activities known as the Compliance Assistance Planning Database
(CAPD). Portions of records from CAPD are available through EPA's
National Compliance Assistance Clearinghouse. You may search these
EPA records through the Clearinghouse under "Planned and Ongoing
Activities." Select "US EPA Projects;" then select which fiscal
year's data you wish to view; then use the "Narrow Your Search"
features. EPA also uses CAPD to develop and publish a Compliance
Assistance Activity Plan, beginning with Fiscal Year 2001. This
publication inventories and analyzes EPA's planned compliance
assistance activities, and is also available electronically. Refer
to the document list above.
