Mission:
The mission of the Application and Production Technology Research Unit is to develop new and improved methods of applying agrochemicals, and develop and integrate pesticide application, crop production equipment, cultural, and agronomic practices into profitable crop production systems. The research includes the development of new and innovative methods to more efficiently apply pesticides, biocontrol agents, and plant growth regulators that minimize spray drift and environmental contamination and to reduce crop and economic losses due to pests. Research is focused on examining key aspects of water management, crop water needs, and irrigation methods in detail. The overall goal of our research is the development of economically viable, environmentally sound production systems through incorporation of advanced technologies into optimal production systems.
