The Importance of SAFECOM for Public Safety
Recent emergencies have demonstrated the importance of coordination
among local, tribal, state, and federal public safety
officials at the incident scene.
SAFECOM was established to serve as the umbrella program
within the Federal Government, to help local, tribal, state,
and federal public safety agencies improve public safety response
through more effective and efficient interoperable wireless
communications.

The PSWN Program was recently folded into SAFECOM and will no longer function as a separate program. Click here for more information on the PSWN Program transition.
