For Consumers

Breast Cancer Awareness
All women are at risk for breast cancer — the most commonly diagnosed cancer in American women, except skin cancer. Breast cancer cannot be prevented, however, studies show that early detection of breast cancer saves lives. The CDC-administered National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (NBCCEDP) has screened almost 1.75 million women and provided more than 4 million screening examinations.

Cervical Cancer Awareness
An estimated 10,520 new cases of invasive cervical cancer will be diagnosed in 2004 and about 3,900 women will die of the disease.1 The good news is that cervical cancer is preventable and curable if it is detected early.
