WASHINGTON, DC – The U.S. General Services Administration’s (GSA) Federal Technology Service (FTS) has awarded a comprehensive enterprise-wide information technology services support task order for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) technology infrastructure.

The performance-based task order, which replaces 36 existing contracts, provides a wide range of IT infrastructure support services including program management; client and help desk support; data center operations and local area network administration; security operations and support; systems engineering and integration; and asset management.  This task order will provide a single point of accountability producing innovative, efficient, and cost-effective IT infrastructure support services and will align infrastructure management and support to benefit from industry best practices. Awarded to SRA International, Inc. through GSA’s Millennia contract, the task order has a value of more than $300 million over five years, if all options are exercised.

“The award of this complex, integrated IT acquisition exemplifies the expertise and professionalism offered by FTS’ Federal Systems Integration and Management Center (FEDSIM),” said FTS Commissioner, Sandra N. Bates. She added, “We are pleased to have been able to manage this acquisition on behalf of FDIC’s Division of Information Resources Management and look forward to working with them to help ensure the success of this important project.”

FEDSIM offers a wide range of support for planning, developing, acquiring, implementing, maintaining, and managing IT resources and support services.  Managing over $1.4 billion in new IT acquisitions in 2003, FEDSIM has a proven track record of developing innovative and award-winning solutions to government IT problems and satisfying requirements for specific IT products and services.
