(GPO).
This web site is designed to provide the best resource
for information regarding the mission and activities
of the OIG, as well as the text and summaries of OIG
reports and publications.
The Office of the Inspector General
was created by the Government Printing Office Inspector
General Act of 1988, which was Title II of Public
Law 100-504 (October 18, 1988). Title I of that Public
Law is known as the Inspector General Act Amendments
of 1988, and created offices of Inspector General
in designated Federal entities. Because GPO is a legislative
branch agency, the GPO OIG was established separately.
The OIG for the GPO consist of Audits,
Administrative and Inspections, Investigations and
IT groups to provide services to the GPO. The OIG
has dedicated itself to assisting the GPO as it continues
to improve its efficiency and effectiveness. The OIG
provides leadership and coordination, and recommends
policies to prevent and detect waste, fraud and abuse
in agency programs and operations.
Please contact the OIG to report any
allegations of waste, fraud, abuse and mismanagement
regarding the GPO. If you have general questions or
comments about our web site, please contact the OIG
webmaster.
