Prints & Photographs Online Catalog

The Prints & Photographs Online Catalog (PPOC) contains catalog records and digital images providing access to about 65% of the still pictures held by the Prints & Photographs Division, as well as some images found in other units of the Library.

The Library offers broad public access to these materials as a contribution to education and scholarship. Not all images displayed in this catalog are in the public domain. Some materials in these collections may be protected by the U.S. Copyright Law (Title 17, U.S.C.) and/or by the copyright or neighboring-rights laws of other nations. Additionally, the reproduction of some materials may be restricted by terms of Library of Congress gift or purchase agreements, donor restrictions, privacy and publicity rights, licensing and trademarks. Transmission or reproduction of protected items beyond that allowed by fair use requires the written permission of the copyright owners. In some collections, only thumbnail images display to those searching outside the Library of Congress because of potential rights considerations.
