Retailers

This page is for retailers—owners and employees of retail food stores.  You can find out how to apply to become an authorized retailer, so you can accept food stamp benefits from your customers.  If you’re already authorized to accept food stamp benefits, you can find out how to contact our local field office that handles your area.  There’s also an explanation of what food items can be sold for food stamps—and what things cannot be sold.

EBT—Electronic Benefits Transfer.  We’re moving from paper food stamps (coupons) to EBT cards.  EBT allows you to accept food stamp payment for food using the EBT card--a kind of debit card.  The EBT page gives information on this system.
