Fifteen Percent Allocations - Adjusted

The memorandum below transmitted a table showing final fiscal year 1999 exemptions for able-bodied adults without dependents, adjusted for any 1998 carryover. It was sent to all FNS regional offices for forwarding to their food stamp State agencies on January 15, 1999.

Attached are the final fiscal year (FY) 1999 allocations of the 15 percent exemptions for able-bodied adults without dependents (ABAWDS) adjusted to include the carryover number from FY 1998.

We issued preliminary 15 percent allocations on September 18, 1998. That number did not take into consideration the carryover amount from the unused FY 1998 exemptions because final numbers for FY 1998 had not been reported by that time. The attached number is the sum of the FY 1999 allocations released in September and the carryover amount from FY 1998 as reported to us by the State agencies.
