The Chronic Disease Prevention (CDP) databases were developed to provide access to information on chronic disease prevention and health promotion to health professionals responsible for supporting, planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating chronic disease prevention and risk reduction efforts. The databases provide bibliographic citations and abstracts of various types of materials including journal articles, monographs, book chapters, reports, curricular materials, fact sheets, and proceedings. Full text is provided for selected publications. The databases also contain descriptions of chronic disease prevention and health promotion programs. Update: October 2004 The National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) produces the Chronic Disease Prevention (CDP) Databases to help public health professionals and educators locate published and unpublished program information that focuses on chronic disease prevention and health promotion. We have made every effort to make the databases as current and complete as possible and to provide accurate descriptions of the information in the databases. Inclusion of an item in the databases does not imply the endorsement of NCCDPHP or CDC. Decisions regarding the validity and usefulness of the programs, as well as the approaches, claims, findings, and results represented, are the responsibility of the user. |
